So as most all of you know, I am pretty new to the blogging world. Which means I'm pretty much learning as I go--and the topic I learned about this week was the right way to reply to comments. What did I learn you might ask?--I've been doing it ALL wrong!!!
That's what I thought to myself when I landed on this handy dandy post from the blog Back East Blonde today. See, for the past few weeks I've gotten the nicest comments from other bloggers on my posts (which seriously just about make my day). And because I am just itching to form some good blogging friendships with my fellow bloggers, I've been steadily replying back to each and every one of them by replying on the comment itself.
Lately though, I've been wondering why nobody has responded to my replies. And then I got an email reply back from one of the comments I'd written on someone else's blog-dur da dur--Blinkers, flashing lights, lightbulb over my head moment! Needless to say, that is exactly what I will be doing for the rest of my blogging career! Sorry to all of you who did not get my responses to your comments--I didn't ignore you I promise. I'm still deciding whether I will respond to all of your comments by email or if doing this would make me a nuisance. Any thoughts on that would be much appreciated.
In other news, this past week (my third official week of blogging) I've been hard at work on the last-minute prep for my Cara box. I have really enjoyed getting to know my two Cara box buddies this past month and it's been really fun to create a box in this month's nautical theme. You'll have to check out Breeanna's blog to find out exactly what was in her box this month, but here is it's aftermath.
It's a scrap-tastic mess!!
Scrapbooking supplies littered across the living room and all I got from the hubby was a raised eyebrow and a "you've been busy" when he came home from work. Bless that man's patience!
In other news, the royal baby was born today!! I'll be honest with you...I've spent this entire 9 months of the Duchess' pregnancy hoping her little one would be a girl--a little Charlotte Grace they called her in my mind. So I was a teensy bit disappointed when I found out this afternoon that Charlotte was actually an Edward or a Phillip or a James (I never actually put much thought into what they would name a boy). However, now that I've gotten used to the idea, the little prince has definitely become my favorite royal person--now if only they'd hurry and announce his name!
Have you had a lightbulb moment about your blog recently? Any other ideas about how to respond to comments? Are you as excited about the new little prince as I am? I'd really love to hear from you (and I promise I will respond to comments the right way from now on!)
