I also have a bunch of other cool stuff in the works about sponsorships, page views and that kind of stuff, but you'll have to come back Friday for the scoop on all of that. In the meantime, go check out my current (and newly revised) Sponsor page, and grab yourself a Specialist ad space--which includes a guest post swap as well as your lovely button on my sidebar--for completely FREE!! Just use the promo code kate&trudy and soon we'll be talking about a guest post! Hurry because I only have two available spots left for the month of September!
Now on to the meat of this post--today is Thursday and I felt a flashback er throwback coming on. So journey with me if you will to the year 2009 at about this time. Why 2009? Hello, my freshmen year of college people!
See that shorty over to the right in that hideous brown and orange ensemble (and the horrible hair and makeup too, I might add)? Yep, that's 18 year old me, my friends. In case, you were wondering I went to a certain private college (which shall forever be nameless) where girls and boys were not allowed to touch (??) and the ice skating rink was our idea of a Friday night out on the town. On second thought, the skating rink was really fun even though I can not skate for the life of me. Anyway, to the left of me in that picture is my best friend Ash.....
.....who is also in this picture (she ended up introducing me to my now-husband a few years after this picture). In between the two of us is our best friend Alyssa and yes, in case you were wondering we did do it on purpose to match. (What can I say people, we have fun the best we can). I actually still have that pair of flipflops I'm wearing in that picture--they've been through a lot--but they're still the comfiest sandals ever!
This picture shows the start of my "sunglasses on top of the head like a tiara" phase, which I still do to this day. Me and my best 'bro' Austin here are trying to be cool in this picture; pretty sure we nailed uncool. Especially with the bathrooms in the back and the multiple hair ties on my wrist--cool kids we were not. It was still a really fun night though--we got to stay up till 2 in the morning-in the same room as boys (like I said, loveys, small things made us excited back then).
This lovely girl right here with the green shirt--she's my great friend Laura (who really needs to come visit me in Hawaii by the way cuz this short girl needs her tall friend!). I just want to say one thing though before I close my very first throwback post--did I ever wear makeup back then???? Just to prove to myself (and you) that I did actually look good once in a while, I've also thrown in this picture, makeup and prettiness courtesy of the lovely Laura featured above.
There! Much better right! You know what I love about that picture looking at it right now? That girl right there has no idea that four years later she'll be married to an amazing man she hasn't met yet--she still thinks she'll be an old maid. Just goes to show you what a difference time can make on a person's life.
With that little tidbit of wisdom, happy Thursday y'all!!
