It's Friday Y'all + Meet My Big

Howdy my lovelies! It's finally Friday! (It is Friday right? My days are a little wonky because my Friday was yesterday but anyway) Phew what a week! Super happy it's over and gone.

Well, we've survived the first week of the government shutdown, people--at least for the most part we have. So far the only big adjustment we've experienced is finding a reasonably priced place to shop since the commissary is closed--for us those places are Costco and Target. I know that this shutdown means delayed paychecks and tons of extra stress and worry for many members of my military family. I have been so inspired by the strength and resiliency I've seen these past few days--it makes me very proud to consider myself a part of this amazing group of people.

On a tad different note, if you visited the blog these last few days, you might have noticed things were a little wonky design-wise. (Oh you didn't notice? Weeeell...this is awkward) I'm super sorry if you landed on my page during those couple of hours when all you could see was the home page. Most of the time I wait until the evening to fiddle with my design but yesterday inspiration hit me right smack dab in the middle of the day! So what do you all think about the new setup? It's only a little bit different, but I think it works much better.

Anyway, if you've been around this lovely bloggy community for any amount of time, you might have noticed something called the Bigs and Littles Blogging Network. Pretty much it's an opportunity for bloggers to get together and share what they've learned with each other. It really doesn't matter if you are a "Big" or a "Little" both partners can learn tons from each other.

I had the pleasure of being paired with Justine. Justine is a super fun gal who blogs over at the Sleepy Single Girl. She and her bf are big fans of football (he actually plays football--how cool is that!) so it was really fun to follow all her football adventures at the same time that I was trying to understand the sport better. You may also recognize her from the Pretty Little Beauty Swap which she hosts with Chelsee from Southern Beauty Guide. Bottom line--I've loved getting to know Justine better and to help all of you know her a little better, here she is answering a few lovely random questions! (If you want to hear my answers to these questions, head on over to her blog) Now, take it away, Justine!!

1. What are some traditions you look forward to all year?
Ok this is odd, but my family doesn't have a lot of traditions!  I think the only one that still stands is where we sit when we open Christmas presents.  I sit on the floor by the tree and pass out the gifts, my brother sits on the floor next to me (further away from the tree) and my parents sit on the couch.  I'm almost 30 years old and we have been doing it that way for as long as I remember!

2. What are some of your favorite beauty products?
I'm not too picky about  makeup products, but I do really love a couple of products from MAC.  First is their paint pot in Bare Study which is like a shimmery tan/pearl color.  I use it as a primer under my eyeshadow every single day and if I am feeling a little lazy I just use it as an eye shadow by itself!  I also love their gel eyeliner (called Fluid Line) in black.  I can't for the life of me use and eye pencil so this is the perfect eyeliner application for me!

3. You're out on your perfect date. Describe it.
Eek this is a hard one!  I think my perfect date would be pretty casual.  A yummy dinner (fondue maybe) and a barefoot stroll along the beach, right where the water meets the sand. That or a day in Disneyland!! Of course, since I live in Arizona neither of these dates is possible at the moment!

4. If you were a Disney princess, who would you be?
I have always loved Cinderella, but if I were to be one that is most like me I would have to say Belle.  I always have my nose in a book.  Plus the whole brown hair and brown eyes thing :)  And you know, I am dating a giant (gentle) beast!

5. Share one item off your bucket list.
Ooo a riding in a horsedrawn carriage in the snow with a blanket over my lap. Preferably in Central Park (yeah, I'm pretty sure I got this from Sex and the City). Also, I have never had it snow on me (like snow falling from the sky) so even as an adult that is on my bucket list :)

6. Describe your blog in 3 words.
Beauty. Adventure. Fun.
Don't you just love this girl?! Make sure to hop on over and check out her blog!
And definitely sign up for the Bigs and Littles Network (signup starts October 7th)!

Check out one of the sweetest ladies I know
