Sunday Social + Meet Jamie

Well hello there friends.  It's that time again--I'm linking up with Neely for another holiday-inspired Sunday Social

1. What are your favorite holiday movies/TV specials?
I love all of these Christmas movies--White Christmas, Sound of Music, Santa Clause 1-3, It's a Wonderful Life, The Holiday...I pretty much could watch any of these a hundred times.

2. Do you do any volunteering during the holidays? If not, what would you do?
Unfortunately not, but I would love to volunteer at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter one of these Christmases...hopefully once we get back to the mainland.
3. What was your favorite toy received as a child for the holidays?
Definitely the Samantha doll my mom got me when I was seven or eight.

4. What was your must-have item in high school for the holidays?
I always asked for music or clothes or something like that. I got a keyboard for high school too.

5. What do you on Christmas Eve?
The hubs and I sit under the tree with hot chocolate and a few cookies and watch a Christmas movie.

Now I'd like to introduce you all to one of my best bloggy friends--Jamie from You Gotta Have Hart. You've seen her on the blog before and today she was sweet enough to stop by and answer a couple questions for me. So without further ado.....

Waffles or Pancakes?
This is a tricky question! I remember being a kid and spending my summer's on my Grandparent's farm.. we would have Eggo Waffles in the morning and they were so yummy.  I've always thought it would be neat to have my own Waffle Maker and see what kind of neat recipes I could come up with-- the truth is, I can't eat the syrup.

However, I can make a mean pancake, I love to make specialty stuff, and Rob loves each and every one of them. The past two times I've whipped some up, I've used fresh blueberries picked from my Sister's back yard and also fresh raspberries and bananas. These suckers were so good (even plain).

How do you eat oreos?
This may come as a big surprise so a lot of people and I'm sorry if there is any shock value involved-- actually, you may want to sit down before reading any further...
I don't really care for/like Oreos. I've never been a cookie eater/sweet eater.  While Oreos are great cookies, I'm just not all that interested. If and when I do eat them, I must say that I'm a traditional gal-- I eat them normally, like any other cookie. (Please don't hate me!)
{That last part was added for me because I was really insistent on asking her how she ate oreos--the fact that she doesn't--kind of a letdown.)

What are 3 things you're naturally good at?
Since I was a young girl, I have always been good with children. I started babysitting at a young age and became more and more fond of babies and kids.

Taking care of them and understanding their needs have always come naturally, as well as cooking. It's an ongoing joke in my family that I'm the mailman's daughter because my Mother doesn't cook and while my Father can cook- he doesn't. I've always been able to cook just about anything, although I don't like to bake.  Measurements have never been my "thing".

And being funny has always come naturally for me... I'm always joking around and making people laugh, without a thought. I guess it's part of that never-met-a-stranger and give-unto-others type of personality.

Thank you Jamie! Make sure to visit her over on her blog!!!! And link up with Neely and the sunday social!
