Broncos, Four Days, and Lone Survivor

You knew football would be a huge part of this post, didn't you? I can't help it, y'all, I'm sort of riding on a cloud right now.

My husband admits he created a monster--a football-loving, orange-and-blue-wearing, five foot monster. (He means this lovingly of course, at least I think so). I think I might have even convinced him to name our first daughter Peyton. We're still working on a suitable middle name that goes with our last name and that starts with a J though. Any ideas for that are welcome, by the way.
Back to the football game though, I was actually pretty sure I'd jinxed it for the Broncos when the Patriots scored in the last quarter.

Don't let the picture fool you--I was raised in Patriots country so I was feeling a teensy bit sorry for my poor home team losing their chance to go to the Super Bowl with only 3 points on the score board. The minute I voiced that to the hubby--Tom ran into the end zone and scored. Ahhh!! The hubs was convinced I was secretly rooting against his beloved Broncos. I wasn't of course because I'm a Peyton-type of gal but it did make me feel a little better that the Patriots only lost by 10. Especially since poor Tom went and had himself a good cry afterwards. Sorry Tom, but it's Peyton's time to shine! Broncos for the Superbowl!!!

Anyway enough about football!!

Zach has a four day because of the holiday today and we've been playing a ton of video games (Lego Pirates of the Caribbean) and catch football. Woops, did I say I was done talking about football? I promise this is the last time I'll mention it--at least until next week. The down side of the four day was that Zach had to go in to work on Saturday because of a DUI in his company and I had a HUGE fight with my mother. Like worse than the one we had when I was 16 and tried to go to a party in a crop top and low-rise jeans. Other than that the weekend has gone off without a hitch. We even got a little crazy in the kitchen and tried out two new recipes that I can't wait to share with y'all!!!

Only one thing topped the Broncos getting to go to the Super Bowl though (sorry this is the last time) and that was the movie we went to on Thursday night--Lone Survivor.

Lone Survivor is the story of Seal Team 10 and their mission Operation Red Wing. It's not an easy movie to watch. It's gritty, compelling, and it tears out your heart. Especially the ending which is essentially a picture slide show of the men who inspired the movie--all but one gave their lives during this mission. I'll be posting a more in-depth review later on in the week but suffice it to say that I think everyone should watch it.

Ok, enough of the sad stuff or I will end up crying just sitting here thinking about it.

How was your holiday weekend? Who were you rooting for to go to the Super Bowl? And most importantly does this count as a content-heavy post???
