Jillian Has My Back {February Directive}

Phew! We're only two days away from the start of February. I'll be really honest with you, loves, and tell you that I'm definitely not looking forward to this month--hubs will be away on a "business trip" for most of it and it would be really easy for me to just spend all my time watching Disney movies and eating a few gallons of ice cream. I'll probably still watch an insane amount of Disney movies (really you should see my DVR Disney takes up 80% of it at the moment) but I'm also planning on being productive this month. However I'm getting a little ahead of myself.

How I Did in January

So if you haven't heard yet, I'm a proud participant of the 2014 Directive. My friend Jessica from Kate & Trudy introduced me to setting SMART goals for myself and I'm so glad she did because it really has helped me complete my goal for January.
In case you missed it, my January Directive was to write at least 10 content heavy posts for the blog--right now I'm sitting at exactly eight content heavy posts for the month and there's two days left. Perfect right since I have two content heavy posts ready for those days?!!! I slacked off a little in my post writing during the middle weeks of the month but somehow I still managed to reach my goal--big win for me and the blog, y'all!

This directive is one that I really want to continue each month of 2014 so we'll see how it goes for February but I'm pretty proud of my progress so far. Ten is a pretty good number but I'm tweaking it a little for February and saying that 8 content-heavy posts for this month is enough. Still shooting for 10 in my mind though!

A couple of weeks ago I was going through my blog statistics (because it's fun and I'm kind of obsessed with them) and happened upon a pretty interesting search term someone found my blog through.

Uhhhhmmm....excuse me??? I completely resent that accusation, Mr Whoever-You-Are! Now just for the record, I'm pretty sure that the reason my blog showed up under that search term was because of this post not because my jeans have been fitting a little snug these past couple months. Regardless though, it still affirmed in my mind what I've known for three or four months--I need to find a fitness plan that works for me.

My problem areas have always been thighs, hips, and tummy which can make staying in size 2 jeans a little difficult when you're not exercising regularly (like me) and eating out a lot (also like me). So I'm going to take this chance of an entire month all to myself to readjust my eating habits by going on a juice cleanse and exercising with good old Jillian every day. I'm not a huge fan of the gym because I tend not to want to get my butt out of my house in order to get there so I'll be doing all of my exercising at home (and annoying my neighbors with extremely loud workout music). Jillian, her DVD's and I have at least a 30 minute date every day for the next 28 days--I'll probably be hating her guts by the end of the first week but I will still keep our dates.

Hopefully, between exercise and eating significantly less, my February Directive can get me back to my healthy weight. In case, you wanted to know that's roughly around 10 pounds away from where I am now. Of course I'd love to lose all ten pounds by the time hubby comes home and our vacation starts but I'll settle with losing 5 straight from the thighs and tummy so I can feel comfortable in my swimsuit again! So yeah....that's my directive for this month. Any tips, tricks, or encouragement are very welcome!!
