A to Z Survey: Books

So I told myself that this week all of my posts would be about romance, love, and the hubs in honor of Valentines Day and everything---well I've been so busy with refitting my wedding dress, sewing myself a purse, and cleaning my house (ok I haven't actually gotten around to that one yet) that I hadn't even given a thought to what I was going to post today.

So when I hopped on over to Charlene's blog and saw her A-Z Survey--I knew it was the perfect thing for today's blogging block.

A: Author you've read the most books by: I'd have to say probably Nora Roberts--I've read almost all of her novels and she has a ton of them sooo...yeah

B: Best sequel ever: Definitely the three Voice in the Wind books by Francine Rivers were the best sequels I've ever read. I loved the first book and the second and third didn't disappoint.

C: Currently reading: Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell

D: Drink of choice while reading: Sweet tea...yep I'm southern by birth

E: E-reader or physical book: Hands down, a physical book. I love the feel of the pages, the crinkling of the spine....nothing electronic can beat that!

F: Fictional character you probably would have dated in high school: Noah from Nicholas Sparks' the Notebook....what's funny is how similar Zach and Noah are.

G: Glad you gave this book a chance: Roses by Leila Meacham I started the book a little confused by the huge sweep of the book but the ending made it all worth while!

H: Hidden gem book: To Catch a Thief: Reluctant Burglar by Jill Elizabeth Nelson--it's a Christian fiction book by a not-very-well-known author so not a lot of people have read it

I: Important moment in your reading life: When I was little, my mom used to read me the Little House and Green Gables series at night before I went to bed. I remember begging her to read just one more chapter before I went to sleep and it always ended up being half the book!

J: Just finished: Dinner with the Smileys by Sarah Smiley

K: Kinds of books you won't read: Where do I start??? I'm a little bit of a book snob when it comes to writing style so there's actually a lot of books I won't read.

L: Longest book you've ever read: I'm thinking maybe Uncle Tom's Cabin in high school--other than that I'm not sure if I've read any extremely long books. I have however read some insanely long series!

M: Major book hangover because of: Karen Kingsbury's Ever After--I cried for days after I read that book...and that was even before I married my soldier boy.

N: Number of book cases you own: Currently only two but I have a ton of books in boxes that I haven't unpacked.

O: One book you've read multiple times: Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers because it's so absolutely amazing

P: Preferred place to read: On the couch snuggled up in a throw next to the hubs while plays videogames

Q: Quote that inspires you: "I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough." -Nicholas Sparks The Notebook

R: Reading regret: Almost all of the Love Inspired books I used to sneak from my mom's bookshelf when I was in middle school. Not because I read them when I wasn't supposed to but because I could have been reading some much better books than all that fluff and nonsense.

S: Series you started but still need to finish: Haha....this one is kind of funny. Twilight is definitely my answer to this one. I read the last book of the series Breaking Dawn because it was my favorite of the movies but I just could NOT get into the first three--Bella literally drove me nuts.

T: Three of your favorite books: Wow--I have a ton of books that I absolutely love but I'm going to try to pick the three that I can pretty much read over and over again. Definitely my first one would have to be Redeeming Love which was actually one of Charlene's picks as well. Night Road by Kristin Hannah and Tumbleweeds by Leila Meecham

U: Unapologetic fangirl for: Hunger Games!!! I read the books before they became the big blockbuster films that they are and I fell in love with them, except the ending of the third one. I love the nuances of Katniss and all of the hidden meaning behind all of the events surrounding the games.

V: Very excited for this release more than others: Nope, none. I would say the Divergent series but they're technically already released I just have to get my hands on the last two.

W: Worst bookish habits: I tend to zone out and get very irritated when people (my hubby) interrupt my reading. And then I give them 'the look'

X: X marks the spot--Start at the top of your bookshelf and pick the 27th book: The Things We Do For Love by Kristin Hannah

Y: Your latest book purchase: Luttrell's Lone Survivor--hubby bought it for me right before he left for training

Z: Zzzz-snatcher book (the last book that kept you up way too late): Fly Away by Kristin Hannah--I got it from the library one day and by the next I was already finished and ready to return it!

Well there you have it....pretty much my life in books! Thanks so much to Charlene for introducing me to this super fun survey!

What is your absolute favorite book? Is there a book you just KNOW I should read??
