Some Current Happenings

TGIF Ladies. It's time for some Friday happenings so without further ado......

Five Things I'm Loving
1) This Picture--Some of you know already that the hubs has been gone these past few days for a month-long training event. I'm really loving that they have a photographer with them through the training because it means I get daily pictures from the hub's company. And of course I couldn't help putting a heart around that lovely adorable (and slightly dirty) face.
2) My Cara Box--If you follow me on Instagram, you know that this week I got my Cara Box from the lovely Jen over at BeebeeBelly. I sent my box to Alex from Munchkins and the Military who just recently moved to Hawaii--if you want to know what I sent her check out Alex's instagram. I always love getting to know the gals from my Cara Box exchange which if you haven't joined by now, you're definitely missing out!
3) Workout DVD's--Part of my February Directive was to get fit this month. Jillian Michaels is helping me do that. So far this week, I've been using her kickboxing workout DVD and I hafta say that I....love it. Yep, you heard me right--it's actually fun even though the workout itself leaves me so sore I can barely move in the mornings.
4) New Friends on the Blog--Alright so this one is really due in part to my number five but Army Ever After has officially reached 300 followers!!!! That's such a milestone for me and my little blog! So THANK YOU to all of my new readers for joining me--I hope to get know you all better as time goes on--and another BIG thank you to all of the lovely ladies who have been reading since the beginning.
5) Victoria Secret--I am a HUGE fan of Valentines Day (even though the hubs has only been home for one) but I'm an even bigger fan of Victoria Secret. Which is why I joined up with a bunch of lovely ladies to give you the chance to win $215 to spend there. Now, I don't know about you but I could spend that at Victoria's in a hot minute--make sure you enter the giveaway and I wish you all the best of luck!!!

Four Blog Posts I Loved Reading
  • Remember the other week when I mentioned Zach and I going to see Lone Survivor and how I just had no words to describe how that movie and the story of Seal Team 10 had affected us. Well my friend Stephanie from Army Crafter had the words and she wrote THE most touching and heartfelt review of the film. I seriously cried while I was reading it, just from remembering.
  • It might shock some of you to know that I am not a huge fan of how my wedding day turned out (there's actually a blog post coming about that one) so it was a great relief to me knowing I wasn't the only one. Maeg's post on her wedding photos that came out horrible kind of made me laugh and she and I agreed that we both deserve a kick-butt vow renewal ceremony!!
  • I've just started to realize how useful Pinterest is to bloggers and Hayley's post about determining pin traffic was super helpful to a newbie like yours truly!
  • Last month I was part of a lovely group of ladies from the Meaningful Marriage Study. One of the posts from that study that struck me the most was from my girl Charlene. She wrote about the five love languages and how to argue in your marriage.

Two Things I'm Looking Forward To
  • You can guess this one. I'm looking forward to the end of the month when the hubs will be home. I've learned to be grateful for these extended times apart because I'm so much more appreciative of our time together when he comes home. Still though, I'm counting the days.
  • Exactly the week after Zach comes back from training, he and I will be driving to the airport. No we're not leaving for a vacation but we are getting a guest!! My sister will be visiting us for a few weeks and I really can't wait!! It's been two years almost since we've seen anyone from home so it will be especially fun to show her around Hawaii and catch up in person!!
One Announcement
Alright this is a little bit of an old announcement because technically I announced it yesterday in a post and on Twitter, but I'm saying it again. Remember when I said my sister was coming for a visit? Well, I've decided to take a little bloggy break while she's here and I'd love to have YOU take over the blog for a day. Quite a few ladies have signed up already but I still need a few more! If you're interested, comment, email, or tweet me!!
