Things that Need to Jump into My Closet

I am in desperate need of a style makeover. I mean it. There are things in my closet that have been there since high school---that's waaay too long ago, y'all. Recently, I've been trying to make it a goal to buy one or two clothing items a month and slowly but surely transforming my wardrobe of high school prep star into one a little bit more mature. I say trying because clothes shopping is one of my LEAST favorite things to do--I know, I know, I should be handing in my woman card for saying that, but it's true.

Actually it's not really the shopping part that gets me--it's the trying things on and staring at myself in the mirror for ten minutes wondering if the cut of my jeans makes my butt look fat. I'm pretty sure my self-confidence level drops 25 points with every item I try on (50 if it's jeans) and that's been pretty much normal even when I was a size zero and skinny.
However in a perfect world that wouldn't happen. Number 1 because they'd actually make styles that look good on short people with large posteriors and bosoms and number 2 because I'd just buy everything off Pinterest, therefore negating the whole trying things on routine. Today I'm pretending it's a perfect world and sharing with y'all some of the clothes I'd love to jump into my closet.

What are some Pinterest outfits you'd love in your closet??

PS: Any ideas on what to wear to a military ball? Ours is in May and I have NO ideas!!!
