A Formal Weekend Recap

You know the weekend was good when it calls for it's very own recap! If you follow me on any type of social media sites, you know that this weekend Zach and I went to our first ever military ball. And if you were here on Friday, you know that I was a teensy bit nervous about it. Well it turns out all my worrying was for naught because we pretty much had the best time ever!

Don't we look purty?! I couldn't be happier with how my dress (Thank you Melissa for suggesting Rent the Runaway and all of you gals who helped me choose which to wear) looked.

My hubs will probably tell you that it took me four hours to do my hair and makeup BUT don't believe him.....it took me about 3 hours to decide how to do my hair and makeup but once I figured it out, it only took about an hour. And I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out! Thank goodness for beauty blogs!

The ball itself was pretty fun--lots of speeches and laughing and a ton of camaraderie all round. There were two things from my Friday post that did indeed come true though. First, the food was horrible and we did indeed pay a visit to the local McDonalds once the ball was winding down and two--I am super awkward when it comes to talking to people and I'm fairly certain I said the complete wrong things to the Colonel and his wife. I'm really hoping that they saw so many outrageously inebriated people that they completely forgot about little ol' me stumbling over the words 'pleased to meet you' three times straight to the same person.

Oh and we got completely lost when trying to find our hotel room and went to the third floor instead of the 23rd floor. Sooo we had to go all the way back to the front desk only to be told we read our room key wrong. #IFeelSoDumb The view however once we got to our room was really breathtaking. We had pretty much a perfect view of the skyline.

Obviously this picture is a very poor example but it gives you a little bit of an idea since we completely forgot to take the good camera with us. Speaking of professional pictures, I can't wait to get the one back from Zach and I at the ball.....I already have a place set up for it on our living room wall. I know I sound like a complete military ball newbie saying that but I really loved getting to have the experience. And even with the food and the interesting fashion choices and the very loud DJ at the end, we had a pretty amazing night!

Today I'm happy to introduce you to one of my sponsors--Ashley from A Faithful Passion. This gal pretty much shares her soul on her blog and I love reading her uplifted posts. She's not afraid to tackle hard topics and has an amazing viewpoint of her life as a single lady.

Go check out this lovely lady!
