A Recap of Sorts

Ugggh.....that's the feeling that pretty much describes the Monday after a four-day weekend to me. Especially a 4-day that was as busy as this one was. I mean, what with our anniversary, the Fourth of July, and trying to keep the pup from destroying everything we own, I feel like I'm due for another weekend not the start of the work week!!!

And because I did spend most of my weekend spending some quality time with the hubs before it's just me and the pup for a few days/weeks, this post is pretty much just going to be pictures. You guys are ok with that, right?

July 3-We Made it to Two!!!-
Hubs surprised me with roses and breakfast in the morning. We went to see the newest Transformers movie #lovedit and went out to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays later on that day.

July 4-Happy 4th!!!-
There was a concert/firework display here on Schofield for the 4th so of course we had to head over to the field and stake our picnic blanket. The Third Eye Blind concert itself wasn't the greatest (unlike last year's Switchfoot and One Republic) since we really don't listen to the group. But even so, I love the feel of spending the 4th on a military base. There's absolutely nothing like seeing thousands of people stand silently as the flag is lowered and the bugle plays at the end of the day.

And of course there's the fireworks! I'm a little disappointed that only a few pictures came out like I wanted on the actual camera (darn that manual mode) but we were lucky enough to snap a few keepers on the phones. And I'm definitely honing my firework photography skills as an excuse to spend at least a week in Walt Disney World. (hello hubs, fireworks every night plus tons of fun during the day!--hint, hint!!)

July 5-6
I seriously think Duke believes that the world is his chew toy. We got back from a short trip to Target the other night and he had chewed an entire video game case to bits. Thankfully it doesn't seem like he swallowed any of the pieces but still it definitely didn't put him on dad's good list. First lesson of living with a man, young pup, video games are just plain off limits. I'm really hoping this destructive streak is just a phase.

I promise I'll come back tomorrow with some great stuff. But for now, I just want to know how you spent your Fourth of July.
