From Here to Eternity {Halona Cove + Blowhole}

I'm warning y'all that today you all are getting one picture overload. I don't think you'll mind though because the place I'm about to show you is, in my humble opinion, THE most beautiful part of the island. Halona Beach Cove.

As a matter of fact, the minute hubby and I got out of the car, we started wishing we'd discovered this little piece of paradise...oh, around 2 years ago. Honestly, if you're visiting Hawaii or if you happened to be stationed here like us, make this your first stop!!!!

Doesn't look like much from the highway does it? Just a little lookout roundabout....and if you're going even a little fast you can miss it. Yes, we know this from experience.

This is what most people stop at the lookout to see--the Halona Blowhole. We got there early in the morning so the blowhole was a bit unimpressive but it does get quite a bit stronger when the tide rises.

And it does have a gorgeous view of the shoreline but what we really came to the lookout to see was this this hidden gem right here--Halona Beach Cove.

Does this beach look familiar? It might if you've ever watched the movie 'From Here to Eternity' because it's used as a location in the film. And there's no hesitation about why--the beach is gorgeous.

The trail to the cove is a little bit hidden away and the hike looks like it could be treacherous from the top. Don't let that deter you though because I made it down the trail in flip flops with no problem.

And you get to soak up the rays from this sweet little spot right here for your trouble. We got there fairly early in the morning (around 8) and we had the beach all to ourselves.

You can't take the photographer out of this boy, let me tell you! He took pretty much all these gorgeous photos.

And obviously while he was snapping away, I just had to go exploring on the rocks for a bit because well, they were there and I felt like doing some pioneering. Zach did stop me before I made my way to the rocks nearest the blowhole but I fully plan on going there again with sneakers and take some shots of the blowhole from up close. Oh and the tripod too because this would be a great place to get some pictures!

IF YOU'VE BEEN TO HAWAII, HAVE YOU BEEN TO THE COVE? WHAT'S A HIDDEN GEM YOU'VE FOUND IN YOUR AREA?
