Guuuuyys! My vacation is almost done. Not going to lie, I'm kinda bummed about that. But you know what I'm not bummed about? Getting back to blogging and designing full time. These last few days off I've been working on a schedule to make everything run a little smoother so hopefully I can get right back into the swing of things later this week.
Today I have Ashley taking over for today talking about being content. Definitely something we all need to work on, right! Take it away, girl!
I'm happy to be guest posting over at Elizabeth Loves while she enjoys her R&R! How lucky is that? Enjoy your time, girly! What I'll be discussing is being content with your own portion until it's your time.
Content: a state of satisfaction. pleased. fulfilled.
Have you ever looked around you and noticed that everyone you know is either engaged, getting married, having babies, or found a new job? I've been noticing that a lot lately and it always has me second guessing my own portion and why mines is not being fulfilled. Here are some ways that I use to remind myself to stay content with my own portion until better finds me. :-)
- The grass isn't always greener. Just because people seem happy and appear to have the perfect life doesn't mean that they are truly happy. Of course, starting a new milestone within your life is exciting but it's also stressful with a range of emotions! Be sure to water your own grass and watch it grow into something very, very beautiful!
- Are you truly ready? Ask yourself... Am I ready for marriage? Am I ready for a baby? Have I matured enough to do well at another job? You could still be at this point in your life because God hasn't seen fit to move you along. We all handle blessings differently and not being content within your current situation just shows that you're possibly not ready for the next level.
- Be joyous! Spread your joy with others and always remain humble in whatever situation that you're in. Having a positive attitude towards others and life will make things 10x easier for you. A smile just keeps on giving!
- Stay busy. If you're busy with your life and your own portion you won't have time to worry about anyone elses. Get involved within your church, start a new hobby, or workout! By staying busy you'll prevent from having an idle mind and we all know what an idle mind leads to.
What are some ways that you keep yourself content with your own portion? Do you ever find yourself feeling uncontent at times? I would love to know in the comments below!
