Join Me for a Latte?

And a doughnut. Because I've been craving doughnuts something crazy lately and my sad attempt at trying to recreate my grandma's beignet recipe (without her actual recipe) didn't help matters. Seriously, y'all, I consider myself to be pretty at home in that kitchen of mine but I admit that I definitely got bested by a beignet.

So if you were to join me on this lovely latte date (coffee or chai--take your pick), I'd ask you to bring your lovely self, your camera--so we can document this whole blate thing......and about a dozen or so doughnuts. Preferably glazed.

Original Image and the Recipe for my doughnut of choice found here.
And as a thank you for bringing me these delicious treats--and also making me gain 10 pounds in one meal, I'd tell you all about how I've been feeling lately.

I'd tell you that I am so extremely happy that my stint as a single lady is finally over!!!! At least for the time being, because the hubby just graduated from the course that has been occupying the last five weeks of our lives!!! Yay Hubby!!! Then, obviously after that news, we'd have to clink our doughnuts together in a toast to our hubby's/significant others for being the amazing people they are and drink more of our lattes.

You'd probably get really tired of hearing me say how proud I am of him and how excited I am for his future, but I'd keep gushing over him anyway because.....well, hello, I'm his wife so I'm allowed. I would admit, albeit a tad sheepishly, that I've felt kind of annoyed lately every time I hear other wives exclaim over going a few days away from their husband. It's definitely the green monster of jealousy talking, I'd tell you, but boy is that beast hard to tame sometimes!

After scarfing down my third...ok, fourth....doughnut of the day, I'd ask you for some good ideas to spruce up my living room. You'd roll your eyes because you know how absolutely horrible I am at anything with the words 'interior decorating' in the title and we'd spend at least two more doughnuts talking about what are Pinterest-esque dream homes would look like.

You'd ask me how Duke was adjusting, because you're an amazing friend like that, and I'd tell you that I absolutely have no idea how we survived without him for so long. Yes, I'd say, we had an...ahem, interesting....first few weeks but now that we've settled in with each other, he's been the best little pup you could ask for. I'd laugh and tell you that Zach has finally accepted that I will always refer to him as Dad in front of Duke and that Duke has finally learned that eating electronics will forever and always put him in the puppy dog house. Oh and I'd show you the dozens and dozens of pictures I have on my phone of Duke and of Duke and Zach---we'd have a good little laugh because apparently I am becoming THAT doggy mama.

We'd talk about blogging--about my brand spankin new design shop and how well it's doing so far. Obviously we'd spend a good doughnut or two on our blogs at which time we'd remember that we both have cameras but neither of us have taken pictures. So we'd end up having to take a few selfies with a half-eaten box of doughnuts to prove to the world of Instagram that this blate did indeed happen.

And as I chowed down on your amazing doughnuts and sipped my latte, you'd tell me how you were doing. What's new with you, I'd say. We'd talk and talk and talk until we were almost through our...whoops...second box of doughnuts!! This is what gal pals are for, we'd tell each other affectionately.

You know what else I'd tell you about if we went out for lattes? This little gal's blog right here

Sweet, Sassy Southern Belle

This girl is sweet, sassy, and definitely southern.....which is probably why Holly named her blog exactly that. As a southern belle at heart, I'm immensely jealous that she took part in her town's Soldier's Day parade, dressed in true 1860's fashion. We'd marvel at how fast a learner she is at this whole blogging game and commiserate with her about how 'fun' some men are sometimes. Then we'd decide that obviously we'd just have to invite her over for our coffee date sometime too!!! The more the merrier, right!!

WHAT WOULD YOU TELL ME IF WE WENT OUT FOR COFFEE AND DOUGHNUTS?

Check out this lovely lady
