Duke | 6 month update

So maybe y'all have been wondering how our little pup has been doing? Of course you have! Partly because he's the cutest little puppy dog in the world--I'm not prejudiced at all about that by the way. And it's been since June since I dedicated a whole post to him so I'm figuring he deserves one!

Ok so let's talk about the Duke-ster!!

LIKES:
-Cuddles, definitely! Every morning he'll cuddle up with me on the couch (usually snoring in my lap) and he loves when Zach relents and lets him up on the couch with both of us.
-Puppy dog dentastix and carrots are his favorite treats. Yes, I said carrots--this little guy loves them. Is that weird? I've never met a dog who liked vegetables before.
-Zach coming home from work is Duke's favorite time of day. He'll hear the car pulling into the drive and his ears perk up. A few seconds later when Zach locks the door, Duke will sit himself right by the door waiting for his daddy to come home. It's so adorable.
-Playing with his tennis ball. When we first got him, he thought that everything was something to eat! But recently we've been really working on getting him to play and he's been loving it. Now to try one of those cute puppy stuffed animals I've been dying to get!
-Zach's text/ring tone on my phone. Whenever he hears it, his ears perk up and you can almost see him going "Daddy!".

DISLIKES:
-When Zach is gone for an extended period of time. This little guy is pretty much a Daddy's boy. He tends to eat less when Zach's gone and by the end of the week he's super mopey and sad. I always make sure to give him extra cuddles but nothing can replace that boy and pup bond!
-Milkbone treats. They've given him a tummy ache every time we've tried them so we think he might be allergic. Anybody need a box of nearly unopened MilkBones??
-Baths. This is still a work in progress and he definitely enjoys it more than he used to but it's still a struggle to get him into the tub.

PET NAMES: I'm not sure I've mentioned this before but we picked the name Duke from the Duke, John Wayne. I was a huge fan of John Wayne movies when I was a kid (I still am actually) so it was kind of a no-brainer when it came to naming him.

However, he's acquired A LOT of nicknames since then Dukester, Dukey, Boo, Bud, Dukey Pookey, Baby Boy, Buggar Boo, Cuddle Bug, Cutie Pie,

PERSONALITY: We got Duke through the shelter here in Honolulu and we were a little worried how he would react to living with a family since we were told he was found on the street. Turns out he was pretty well-trained. Yes, we've had many chewing incidents. My laptop, a few video games, plastic bottles....you name it, he's probably chewed on it. Potty incidents? Yep we've had lots of those too. However he's been really good lately so crossed fingers, right!

He's also a definite cuddle bug which is so cute. I love that as he's gotten used to us and his new home, he's gotten so much more comfortable expressing his silly side. Sometimes I swear he smiles at us. Can you tell we're in love with this cute ball of fur?

Look at that face!! He melts my heart practically every day! We're so amazingly happy that Duke is a part of our family and we absolutely can't wait to make even more memories with him in the future!

DO YOU HAVE A PET? WHAT ARE SOME OF HIS LIKES AND DISLIKES?
